All activities for the upcoming meeting will be held at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside at 301 North Water Street, on the shore of the beautiful Cape Fear River in Wilmington, NC. The hotel-convention center is a short stroll from one of the largest historic districts listed in the United States Register of Historic Places.
Wilmington is a port city that is only minutes away from miles of white sandy beaches. Antebellum mansions surround the historic downtown district. Cobblestone streets lead to a wide selection of restaurants and coffee shops, all within walking distance of the symposium center. Fresh local seafood is featured in many of the eateries that line the waterfront. The historic downtown district is also well-known for its club scene. A boardwalk along the riverfront encourages meandering and offers a beautiful and peaceful setting to sit and sip your pre-meeting coffee with your colleagues.
North Carolina is at its best in October when the weather is exceptional. Humidity is low and temperatures range from crisp at night to warm during the day. Locals wear shorts and sandals at this time of year, but pack a sweater just in case. North Carolina is a diverse and spectacular family-friendly state. Bring your family and plan a trip before or after the meeting to explore the coast, the central piedmont, or head to the Appalachian Mountains for the fall color.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in
North Carolina for another great
North American Symposium on Bat Research!
