36th NASBR LODGING UPDATE-12 September 2006 The Hilton Riverside in Wilmington has sold out of rooms. As an alternative we have secured a rate of $80 plus taxes and fees for the Comfort Suites on Market Street in Wilmington. We have negotiated with the Hilton Wilmington Riverside for very reasonable room rates for NASBR attendees, $89 (plus 13% sales tax, $11.57) for single and double occupancy. There is a $10 charge for each guest beyond double occupancy. Participants must make their own room reservations by one of the following means: reserve online at www.hilton.com, call 1-800-HILTONS or the Wilmington Hilton Riverside’s direct number, 910-763-5900. To obtain the special conference hotel rate enter the conference code "NAB" when prompted for online booking. If calling, ask for the NAB conference rate.
Inform the registration desk that you are part of the North American Symposium on Bat Research in order to receive the conference rate. The conference rate is available only until September 16, 2006, so make your reservations early.
The Hilton Riverside has about 130 rooms that feature beautiful views of the Cape Fear River. The view is especially nice at sunrise and sunset. You may request a riverfront room when making reservations, however these rooms are not guaranteed unless you pay a $10 fee.
Parking rates at the hotel are $5/day for daily guests, $7 for overnight guests and $10 daily for valet parking.
If you’re bringing family, or planning a longer stay in the area, the Hilton Wilmington Riverside has a partnership with Shell Island Resort at Wrightsville Beach that may be of interest. A “Best of Both Worlds” pass can be purchased for $15 (per car, per day) at the Hilton Riverside. This pass will provide you with beach parking and access to the Resort's fitness and indoor/outdoor pool facilities.
