NASBR 2018 - Puerto Vallarta, MX

Hosts: Jorge Ortega & Rodrigo A. Medellin
Dates: October 24-27, 2018

Venue: The Westin Resort and Spa

The 48th Annual North American Symposium on Bat Research will be held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, 24-27 October, 2018, at the Westin Resort & Spa.  The hotel provides a beachfront escape, yet is only 15 minutes away from downtown.  There are a multitude of things to do in Puerto Vallarta, appealing to visitors of every age.  Stroll the sculpture-lined, oceanfront malecón (promenade), spend the day whale watching in the Pacific Ocean’s Banderas Bay, or simply relax on the most beautiful beaches in Mexico.  There are several pre-conference tours, organized by Ecotours Vallarta.  We will also offer a pre-conference workshop, focused on the specifics of using acoustic detection methods to study bats.  NASBR participants will also have the opportunity to net for bats on Thursday and Friday nights.  We will have a 6K run open to all NASBR participants to support the Spallanzani Fund Raiser.  Finally, we would like to create a bat mural of photos from researchers to celebrate Bat Week, 2018.
